The Ammoniacal solution is utilized in the cold storage, waste and wastewater treatment, rubber, paper, pulp, and beverage and food industries as a neutralizer, stabilizer, and a source of nitrogen.

There is a possibility of lithium carbonate precipitation in the interaction of a lithium chloride solution with an Ammoniacal solution.

In the carbonation phase of the ammonia soda process, an aqueous solution of sodium chloride comprising ammonia is reacted with vaporous carbon dioxide in Solvay-type turrets to precipitate sodium bicarbonate in Ammoniacal solution.
