Heat gradient is the physical quantity that determines the flow of thermal energy. Heat always flows from region with higher intensity to lower intensity till equilibrium is attained. Heat intensity is measured using temperature and temperature determines the flow of heat. Heat gradient can also be termed as Temperature gradient.
