Gas laws Assumes that the particles of gases occupy negligible space when compared to the whole gas and hence are ignored. Similarly, the pressure exerted by the gas does not take the intermolecular forces into account because of the assumption that gas particles are very far from each other to interact. The energy of the gases are dependent on the temperature with proportionality constant known as Boltzmann constant. "PV=n R T" where R is gas constant(i.e. boltzmann constant per Mole).
Atom are the smallest particle that can determine the chemical properties of a substance. They behave as the basic building block of the matter.
Dalton believed that atoms are the smallest constituent of a substance. He proposed that when different atoms are mixed in different proportion, matter as we perceive comes into existence. He claimed that atoms cannot be broken down further smaller and hence are building blocks of matter. He stated that no.of atoms are conserved just as mass is conserved in any reaction.
