Question #149136

Can the different gas laws explain the existence of LPA (Low Pressure Area) and HPA (High Pressure Area)? Justify your answer.

Expert's answer

Yes.

A syringe fills up by pulling its plunger and the syringe's volume increases, causing a corresponding pressure decrease inside. Because the liquid is at atmospheric pressure, it flows into the low-pressure area inside the syringe.

This is in accordance with Boyle's Law.
