A substance that has a larger surface area will evaporate faster, as there are more molecules per unit of volume that are potentially able to escape. Water spilt on a floor which has large surface area than the same amount of water in a glass. Hence water spilt on a floor evaporate more rapidly than the same amount of water in a glass.
