The roles of lipids in living organisms include; energy production and storage, insulation and protection of the body, enhance proper digestion and absorption of food and nutrients, requirement for hormones production and they cell wall structures. The roles of waxes in living organisms include; act as water repellents on leaves of some plants, serve as energy storage substances in microscopic aquatic plants and animals and the waxes also control rates of evaporation and hydration in plant.
