- temperature (increases the kinetic energy of the particles, so that diffusion increases also);
- concentration (large difference in concentrations leads to a greater probability of molecular collision over the region and increases diffusion);
- medium of diffusion (the greater the molecules in the medium, the lower rate of diffusion);
- density of diffusing substance (high-density regions have a greater rate of diffusion than low-density regions).
