Kreb's cycle is a set of sequential aerobic biochemical reactions that provide energy (GTP) the substrates for the further ATP synthesis (NADPH+H+) in the respiratory chain of mitochondria and for amino acids, lipids and carbohydrates synthesis (Acetyl-CoA etc). Another name of this cyle is citric acid cycle as it is a seria of the three-carbon substrates (like citic acid) transformation. It occurs in the matrix of mitochondria.
