35. Discuss the physical mental and social dimensions of health. Explain how these dimensions are interrelated.
36. Explain the role of fibre and water in the human body.
a)Physical health is proper functioning of all the external and internal parts and organs of an individual body which allows the person to perform the daily tasks normally without any limitation
Mental health means a person should be able to understand and manage life stresses and be able to participate in the society, and can be able to work effectively.
Social health is how the person is able to interact with people, friends, family and society.
The three dimensions of health are interrelated. This implies that an effect on one dimension will have an effect on the others. This could result in an improvement in health status or decrease an individuals health status.
b)Fibre is mainly needed to keep the digestive system healthy. It also contributes to other processes, such as stabilising glucose and cholesterol levels. Water regulates body temperature, moistens tissues in the eyes, nose and mouth, protects body organs and tissues and carries nutrients and oxygen to cells.
