5.A balanced diet is a diet, that provides human body with all the nutrients and adequate calories it needs to function properly. A balanced diet will include a variety of foods from 5 food groups (in order of decreasing recommended amounts): grains, protein foods, dairy, vegetables and fruits.
6.Food adulteration refers to an act of replacing some valuable food components with inferior substances, which results in debased quality of that food. Common examples of adulterated foods: honey, vanilla extract, olive oil, milk, apples, bread, tea. (Comment: I don’t know what country is the question about, so I list general examples). Honey: mixed with sucrose syrup, that results in unexpectedly high blood sugar and increased risk of diabetes. Milk: diluted with toxic substances like formalin, detergents, urea. Oil: diluted with lower quality oils, consumption of which might lead to atherosclerosis development. Bread: added alum, which is a toxic substance. Tea: adding of carcinogenic dyes.
