Question #169695

Explain the role of blood vessels in homeostasis

Expert's answer

Blood vessels form a net of tubes that transport nutrients, ions, water, blood cells, hormones and gasses through the body. As a result, blood vessels maintain acid-base balance, water balance, and ion balance. They control blood pressure and the efficiency of the nutrients transportation. Blood vessels interact with almost all tissues supplying them with oxygen and nutrients.
