Explain the PQRST curve in relation to the cardiac cycle?
During the cardiac cycle, a healthy heart has an orderly progression of depolarization that starts with pacemaker cells in the sinoatrial node (the sinoatrial node produces the P wave), spreads throughout the atrium (PR interval), and passes through the atrioventricular node down into the bundle of His and into the Purkinje fibres, spreading down and to the left throughout the ventricles (the rapid depolarization of the ventricles produces QRS complex). ST-segment indicates the period of ventricles depolarization while T wave indicates the repolarization fo the ventricles.
