How is mean arterial pressure (MAP) calculated and why is it useful? ( short answer please)
MAP is an important measurement that accounts for flow, resistance, and pressure within your arteries. It allows doctors to evaluate how well blood flows through your body and whether it's reaching all your major organs.
The MAP can be estimated by using a formula in which the lower (diastolic) blood pressure is doubled and added to the higher (systolic) blood pressure and that composite sum then is divided by 3.
