These two questions about anesthetizing a rabbit
1.How does the coagulation time of the test tube with heparin change? Why?
2. How does the coagulation time of the test tube with Lung tissue immersion liquid change?
(a) The amount and concentration of heparin have the natural ability to inhibit the coagulation of blood because of the presence of active thrombosis. The prevention or inhibition of the coagulation is mainly done by inactivating thrombin which subsequently prevents the formation of the fibrin from the fibrinogen. Heparin also has the ability to inhibit the formation of the stable state of the fibrin clot by p[reventing the formation of the fibrin stabilizing factor. This greatly affects the coagulation time of the heparin in the test tube with heparin.
(b)The coagulation time of the test tube with lung tissue immersion liquid will be great because of the absence of the active thrombosis meaning the process of the coagulation will be hindered hence no formation of the fibrin from fibrinogen. When there is no coagulation, there will be great coagulation time.
