explain evolution of human in detail?
Human evolution entails the lengthy processes of change that occurred in humans by which people are believed to have originated from apelike ancestors. The scientific work of Charles Darwin establishes the theory of evolution and shows how the process of natural selection influenced human evolution which mainly occurred due to struggle for existence. This evidence from scientists confirm that the shared behavioral and physical traits by all humans originated from apes and evolved over a long period of time which can be approximated to six million years.
As humans are primates, they share a very close relationship with another primate species group the apes. Therefore, around more than ten million years ago, speciation led to the ancestral lineage of primates splitting from one shared ancestor into two sub-families; the Hominidae (humans) and Pongidae (apes) which evolved separately. Consequently, members of one group, which are the current great apes evolved and adopted an arboreal lifestyle, which means they lived in trees and continued being quadrupeds hence they move with four legs.
On the other hand, the second group evolved differently and became terrestrial which means they considered living on land instead of in trees. Also, they stopped being quadrupeds and evolved to bipeds, which means they moved on their two hind legs as well as developed an increased brain size. It is this second group, through evolution, which gave rise to the modern human beings as confirmed by many fossils that were found from the genus Australopithecus. While this genus is extinct, the study of fossils has revealed remarkable features concerning their adaptation toward living a terrestrial lifestyle which is exhibited in stages. These stages include the Dryopithecus, Ramapithecus, Australopithecus, Homo erectus, Homo sapien neanderthalensis and Homo sapien sapiens
