Nitrogen-fixing bacteria - use atmospheric nitrogen gas to produce ammonia, which is incorporated into composition of organic molecules.
Denitrifying bacteria - nitrogen oxides are converted into nitrogen gas
Ammonifying bacteria - decompose organic molecules with the release of ammonia
