Kingdom plantae includes plants that can be grouped into four main phyla which are

1. Thalophyta: this phylum contains thaloid plants which can be red algae (rhodophyta) or green algae (chlorophyta).

2. Bryophyta: this includes simple plants like mosses and liverworts.

3. Pteridophyta: These are vascular plants (tracheophytes) that do not produce seeds e.g ferns.

4. Spermatophyta: These are seed producing plants which can be flowering (angiosperms) or non flowering (gymnosperms).
