Stem cells are the cells which has the ability to develop into any cell type. Bone marrow is the spongy tissue, which is present inside the bone of the body. Bone marrow produce stem cells in our body.

Stem cells can develop into any cell type ranging from blood cells to brain cells. But the stem cells can be able develop into certain type of nerve cells only in lab petri dishes. We can stimulate a stem cell to develop into a nerve cell. So yes a stem cell can become a nerve cell.
