The type of cells which produce and secrete oil is called sebaceous gland cells (sebocytes), these cells are located in the skin and open into a hair follicle to secrete an oily or waxy matter (sebum).

This type of cells contain many lipid droplets and vesicles in their cytoplasm. Fully differentiated sebocytes are full of lipid and lack all other cellular organelles.
