Question #105660

I would like to know if different lobes of the liver produce different levels of catalase. If so why? Any research or pointers are extremely helpful! Thankyou.

Expert's answer

Different lobes of the liver produce different volumes of catalase because of their size (for example, the right lobe needs to produce more than quadrate lobe).

While hepatocytes are the same in the liver, they need to produce the same level of catalase. The speed of its producing is different because of the specificity of blood supply.
