What will happen if all the water is removed from cell?

Cell will shrink and die if water will be completely removed. A common example of this scenario is the food salting for the preservation goals. Due to the osmosis, the water will be going through cell membrane out of the cell in order to equilibrate concentration on both sides of the cell membrane.
