Photosynthesis takes place in leaves as they have chlorophyll so the outer covering of water melon is green. so photosynthesis takes place........???????

Several studies have been made which show some of the influences of photosynthesis in the green layers of fruits upon the development of that fruit. So probably photosynthesistakes place.
