Two resistors of ohmic values R1 and R2 are connected in series, and the combination
across a source of voltage V. How is this voltage across the resistors?
the resistors are R1 & R2.
The Voltage source is Vs.
I = current, therefore there will be I1 for R1 & I2 for R2
Ohms law states V = IR
Therefore, Vs=V1+V2 where V1 & V2 are respective voltage drops across R1 & R2
but V=IR, where R is the sum of the two
