(2) Describe Zeno's dichotomy paradox as clearly and as precisely as you can. You should list the various steps (premises) in Zeno's argument leading to the conclusion that motion is impossible. (3) Do you think Zeno is wrong in claiming that motion is impossible? If you think he is wrong, where do you think his reasoning goes wrong? Does he rely on premises that are false? If so, which ones? If you think he is right, discuss why each premise in his reasoning is true. (4) What is the "mathematical solution" to Zeno's paradox? (Hint: think of the sequence 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 ...). Does this mathematical solution make sense from a physical point of view? (5) Describe Thomson's lamp paradox (Hint: this is discussed in the middle of the video on Supertasks). Do you have a solution to Thomson's lamp paradox? Explain. (6) Are we wasting our time thinking about these paradoxes? Explain.
