hydroboration-oxidation reaction using cyclohexene, sodium borohydride, boron triflouride etherate, sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide and I was asked to find percentage yield of the product formed I know that the product formed is cyclohexanol so what I did its the formation of diborane first which using using the equation 3NaBH4 + 4BF3.Et2O which forms diborane .my question is does diborane split into two bh3 molecules like this b2h6 to form 2bh3 ? and if it splits is it considered to find number of moles of bh3 or bh3 and b2h6 are equivelant so same number of moles. In the second step. Trialkyborane which was formed in the first step , sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide formed cyclohexanol is it right if the limiting reagent is trialkylborane or it has to be either sodium hydroxide or hydrogen peroxide? the overall reaction is 3cyclohexene + bh3 or b2h6 to form trialky borane +NaOH +H2O2 to form 3 cyclohexanol.
I need basic explanations
