That is, the complete air filling the room is completely changed 8.0 times in one hour. If the ventilation requirement is met entirely by a fan, determine the flow capacity of the fan in m3/s. Determine the fan casing diameter if the velocity is not to exceed 6 m/s. According to BS6399-1, 1996 (Loading for buildings) a residential structure should be designed for a distributed load of 1.5kN/m2. If the room is accidentally flooded so that water is uniformly distributed on the floor, how high can the water level rise before the floor starts to fail?
