The key enlightenment ideas that influenced society and the people’s way of living include;

1.      Separation of powers led to the development of constitutional law where the government should be split into different branches, each carrying out its different tasks to put a stop to the concentration of power.

2.      Rights to man- it mainly concentrated on the education of women more than political rights. It was still proclaimed that women were fundamentally different from men and should limit themselves to domestic chores. Even though women were denied political rights, they gained more civil rights than ever before, new laws were made that favored them including equal access to divorce and inheritance when families passed on their property

3.      Secularism- this is the relationship between religion and society. Religion has lost its function as a basis for normalizing and integrating relationships for members of society as people’s way of life seems increasingly secular. It appears to completely dissolve in the secular norm that religion can be practiced in the form of faith, cult, and devotion, creating a huge diversity in the society and culture.

Enlightenment ideas depicted that reasoning could lead to the development of law and society since they believe that emotions are of importance to human growth. The enlightenment brought forth various books, scientific discoveries, wars, and revolutions that brought a huge change in society and culture.
