How would a Conflict Sociologist view a formal social structure like the Indian Caste System? Explain your answer making specific references to the Caste System and the ideas of the Conflict Perspective.
Conflicts sociologists view the formal social structure by applying conflict theory. According to conflict theory, the limited resources in society prompt people to struggle to improve or maintain their social status social. thus, creating competition over scarce resources and encouraging inequality and dominance over minority groups. The Indian caste system is an example of social structure because it is divided into four categories ( shudra, brahmins, vaishya, and Kshatriyas) based on their social status in society. Therefore public job opportunities and education are being scheduled based on individuals' social structure.
