Explain fully how sociologists attempt to help us understand how society functions.
Sociology explores how the social world influences how we think, feel, and act, and so helps us better understand ourselves. It can also assist us in making decisions, both our own and those of larger organizations. Sociologists compile systematic data from which to make decisions, provide insight into what is happening in a situation, and present options. Sociologists are interested in all aspects of human life, from interpersonal interactions to the intricate ties that exist between nations or international businesses. Individuals still have choices, even if sociology considers that human actions are patterned. Individuals can alter the social forces they face by becoming aware of the social processes that influence how humans think, feel, and behave, as well as having the desire to act. Sociology helps us better understand ourselves and the motivations of others around us by focusing on the external variables that influence attitudes, values, and behaviors. We are both animals and creators of the numerous groups, organizations, and governments that exist in our settings.
