In traditional societies, residence, succession, and inheritance are a culture that is in practice. The main aim of these practices is to ensure long-lasting relationships which are blood-related. If an individual inherits his father's or a relative’s property like land, they will forever in their lives have the blood connection to the relatives that once owned the property before. Even though the property will be in their care, it will always connect to their kinship. It is also true when an individual succeeds or resides in a property of a close relative. Hence, the principles of residence, inheritance, and succession have the propensity to impact kinship relationships in traditional societies.
