Critically discuss the reasons why using a clinical sociologist may be beneficial
Health is frequently seen as a personal attribute resulting from lifestyle choices and individual physiology. Through studies of how social structure and culture impact health, the prevalence of illness among individuals and groups, the availability and acceptance of treatment, and the functioning of the health care delivery system, sociological research has contributed to improving the definition of health and well-being.
Sociological research has improved our knowledge of medical and health policy, such as the significance of patient-provider contact, the impact of implicit bias on doctor recommendations, and how uneven access to health care reproduces socioeconomic disparities among well-off people.
