Hunter-Gatherer Society
Among the different forms of pre-industrial cultures, hunter-gatherer communities have the greatest reliance on the surroundings. These organizations were founded on family or clans as the fundamental basis of human civilization. For existence, hunter-gatherers depended on their circumstances.
Pastoral Society
Changing circumstances and adaptability caused certain cultures to rely on animal domestication when situations allowed it. Human societies came to appreciate their capacity to domesticate and breed creatures and grow and nurture their own vegetation. Rural communities, like the Maasai people, rely on animal husbandry as a source of wealth.
Horticultural Society
Horticultural associations arose in locations where the weather and other factors made it possible to produce consistent yields. They were related to hunter-gatherers in that they relied heavily on the ecosystem for existence. Still, they could establish settlement houses since they did not have to quit their homes to pursue resources. This provided more consistency and economic commodities, laying the groundwork for the first human survival renaissance.
Industrial Society
The Industrial Revolution began with a tremendous increase in technical discovery in Europe, bringing in a period known as the Enlightenment. The number of innovations that affected daily lives made this time unique. Within a generation, things that took months to do before were possible in a matter of days. Before the Industrial Revolution, most works were done by people or animals, and humans or horses powered mills and pumps.
Postindustrial Society
Information societies, sometimes called postindustrial or digital societies, are a relatively new phenomenon. Information communities are centred on providing data and ideas, as opposed to industrial communities, which are centred on creating tangible commodities.
