Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic had been a threat to the current civilization interfering with normal day-to-day functioning. The outbreak had massively affected the educational sphere forcing learning institutions to turn to online education as a mechanism to curb the spread. Despite the challenges that this rapid transition offers, learning centers have been forced to adapt to e-learning by leveraging current educational systems to reduce the danger of a viral outbreak. The online platform offers a preferable alternative in compensating for the normal face-to-face learning forums. Most importantly, it helps to keep people safe while mitigating the spread. The mechanism, however, is not without challenges. This is based on the question of who stands to gain the most from the process. The answer regarding the challenges and opportunities of online classes is however hinged on demographic factors such as gender, level of education, faculty of study, parent's or guardian's employment status, family or household's socioeconomic status, the total number of persons living in the household. The aim of this paper is thus to examine the perception of student's challenges experienced concerning online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Conclusion

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed devastating challenges to the world. It has interacted with normal day-to-day functioning including the process of education. As such, online learning has been widely adopted as a means to adapt to the resultant challenges. The mechanism, on the other hand, has its ups and downs in so far as education is concerned. Demographic factors play a crucial role in assessing the quality of education for each student.
