Briefly describe the sociological imagination and how it could be applied to unemployment as per the reading; what would that reality look like (identify at least three key points)
The sociological imagination is the practice of one being able to think about himself/herself away from the familiar job routines of his/her everyday life, enabling the person to look at them critically and a fresh. This allows an individual to think from an alternative point of view. Sociological imagination could be applied in employment context when a person takes time away from his duty place, say at home, and critically thinks about his fails or success at work. This, he/she could decide to adjust his/her efforts at work or maintain what he does if it fulfills the objectivity of the job he/she does.
