Discuss, from a functionalist perspective, how schools transmit norms and values to learners. Provide a school -based example of this transmission
Functionalists view education as the second agent of socialization, it bridges family and society. Schools transmits culture, values and shared beliefs to students through learning and attitudes in school environment. Schools also transmits norms and values through students socializing with each other. Children from different cultural backgrounds may socialize with each other and learn different language, mode of dressing and foods.
