given the major global social, political and economic changes of the past several years, do you believe that the basic assumptions and perspectives of the conflict approach to crime are valid
Conflict perspective views economic and social factors as the major cause of crime in society. It explains how crime is promoted by inequality in the system. The society is divided into two groups, the wealthy, who manages and controls the means of production, and the poor who works and depends on the wealthy for survival. The wealthy Centralize the powers so they can control, influence, and maintain it. The few wealthy member in the society controls and keeps most of the wealth to themselves leaving the majority who are poor struggling for the few remaining resources. This leads to most people in the low class or the poor to engage in crime since there is few resources left to share.
