How does one apply the theories to othering?
Othering is the situation where a group of people ate considered to be fitting in a group while others are not fitting. The individuals who are fitting in a particular group are considered to be the in-group. However, the individuals who are not fitting in a particular group are considered to be in the out-group.
Theories can be used to avoid or discourage othering. Consequently, discrimination can be reduced by looking at everyone equally and including everyone in social activities regardless of their social status. Therefore, discouraging civil war between the in-group and the out-group.
