Explicit components of symbolic interpretation
Three explicit components of symbolic interpretation are derived from the three premises of Symbolic Interactionism Theory as follows:
1. The action of human beings towards objects or situations is based on the meanings things possess for them.
2. The group of life and social interactions forms the basis from which meanings are derived.
3. Things are modified through an elaborate interpretive process by the set of people that recognize such things.
However, symbolic interpretation involves the following components, gestures, language, norms, values, folkways, mores and sanctions.
