who is Karl Max
Karl Max
Karl Heinrich Marx was born in Germany on 5th May 1818 and died on 14th March 1883. He was a law and a philosopher student and throughout his life, he was regarded as a philosopher, sociologist, and political theorist. Through his political publications, Karl Marx was exiled to London but this did not stop his work as he continued to work with Friedric Engels on revolution. Through his evolutionary work on politics, economy, and society, he comes up with the Marxism theory that made him acquire the tag of the “father of sociology” (Shaibal et al.,2019).
Through the Marxism theory, Karl Marx states that “human societies develop through the class conflict”. Conflict exists between the ruling class termed as Bourgeoisie which controls all the means of production through capital and the working class termed as proletariat who sell their labor in exchange for a wage. The revolution by Karl Marx predicted that the capitalist approach produces internal conflict and with time it will lead to the adaptation of socialism characterized by class consciousness with free association between the communists and the producers.
Karl Marx was one of the greatest influential people in human history and while his work in economics, politics, and sociology has both been lauded but it has also been critiqued as well. His best contribution to the economy led to the understanding of labor and capital and this has been the main basis for modern-day social science (Leonard, 2014).
