Symbolic interactionism is a micro-level theory which majorly focuses on individual relationships within a given society. It is the manner in which people make sense of their social world. For instance if somebody likes books, then symbolic interaction can propose that he/she learnt that books have important in the individual's interaction with, family, school, friends, church etc.
