In what aspects do you see incongruence between your real self and ideal self?
When our views about our real self and ideal self are highly similar—in other words, when our self-concept is accurate—we experience congruence. High congruence is associated with a higher sense of self-worth and a healthier, more productive existence. Parents can assist their children in achieving this goal by providing them with unconditional positive respect, often known as unconditional love. When people are valued and welcomed, they develop a more caring attitude toward themselves. Incongruence, on the other hand, occurs when there is a significant gap between our ideal and actual selves, which can lead to maladjustment.
