1.     Only the teacher should make assessments of students' performance on CAPS-related topics- dispute. This is due to the fact that other important stakeholders should be involved in making assessments of learners' performance.

2.     Assessment can be thought of as the vehicle that propels teaching and learning forward. This analogy perfectly describes the function of the students, who are the passengers in the vehicle while the teacher is the driver. This is because assessment allows both teachers and students to work toward achieving their objectives.
