Differencebetween global and local public relations with examples
Global public relations are a type of public relations that occurs when an organization and its publics are in different countries. This relates to the global approach, where practitioners believe that there are certain best practices and messages that are generally successful across countries and cultures
On the other hand, local Public Relations is a strategic process that builds Popularity and Reputation for small businesses which in turn increases the likelihood of an individual doing business with you. Local PR is about building brand awareness and creating positive and engaging customer relationships within a business's community. Local PR takes all of the aspects of public relations, such as maintaining a good brand image, and focuses it at the community level.
An example of the local vs. global approach happened in 2012 when IKEA, a Swedish furniture company, decided to atomizer a woman out of a catalog it would use in Saudi Arabia because women had to cover their faces and bodies to appear in public (Alaimo, 2017). IKEA apologized after the trade minister of Sweden, a country that advocates for women, complained.
