Describe the different approaches towards treating psychopathology which became available
during the twentieth century. [
Psychodynamic approach.
Psychodynamics focuses on the systematic investigation of the psychological processes that underpin human behavior, feelings, and emotions, as well as how they may be related to early experiences. It's particularly fascinated by the dynamic interactions between conscious and unconscious motivation.
Analysis of Behaviour approach.
Behavior therapy is a treatment method based on the concept that abnormal behavior can be taught. It uses operant conditioning, classical conditioning, and observational learning principles to replace improper or maladaptive behaviors with more adaptive ones. Methods of behavior therapy may focus solely on actions, or they may focus on a combination of thoughts and feelings that may be influencing behaviors. Behaviorists, or people who perform behavior therapy, focus on specific, taught behaviors and how the environment influences such behaviors.
