What are the implications of the course psychology for your discipline, Engineering?
The most important thing that I learned from taking general psychology is about human behavior and how this impacts an individual’s mental health. People form an environment where we can express our personalities and develop cognitive functions and behaviors in society. I think this is important because society faces series of behavioral and mental issues, and this major can help understand the problem and address it. I was surprised to learn that psychology is a diversified discipline and can address psychological matters in schools, business organizations, and even government institutions; thus, this course has many job opportunities. Interestingly, I learned that this course could help me explore many opportunities in psychology including becoming a professor who can lead research and discoveries in this field. I have passion and interest to peruse the course. I want to ensure that teamwork is achieved to help address some of the issues affecting psychological researchers to overcome varied opinions in research studies. From what I know, I can help mobilize society to adopt a healthy lifestyle to promote mental health. The implication of this course significantly influences my life. It has changed my life goals and purpose; now, I intend to use my skills to address psychological issues in society rather than focusing on personal goals only. In the field of Engineering, I can use these skills to address the psychological problems facing engineers.
