Thabo’s mother, Mrs Radebe, has approached you, the teacher counsellor, for help. Mr and Mrs Radebe have noticed that Thabo seems distressed lately, and is refusing to go to school. He does not sleep well and cries uncontrollably every morning before school. The parents require help in understanding Thabo’s behaviour.

In order to create a friendly setting and to put the learner at ease, explain how you would invite Thabo to talk to you.

Basically i will endeavour to understand Thabo's limits and capabilities based on the development level this will promote a collaborative working relationship amongst us. A collaborative approach will help build rapport with Thabo. I will create an environment in which Thabo will trust me. Once an environment of trust has been created then communication will ensue which will result to solving the problem of Thabo
