Pre-requisite skills are the skills that your students need to have mastered before the lesson segment so that they can successfully understand what you will be teaching.

I can clearly identify the prerequisite skills needed for lesson plan through the following ways;

First, I would look whether the teacher who wrote the lesson plan I have had a clear objective. Objectives are always important when writing a lesson plan because there is always something new for you to teach your students. It is therefore important to set clear goals and objectives for your lesson plan to ensure that you stay on topic and cover the relevant information.

Secondly, I would identify prerequisite skills needed for a lesson plan by making the lesson relevant. This is done by including some life real situations in my lesson. Making the lesson relevant is important because in lesson plan because it makes the learners to understand some concepts which seem to be complicated.

Thirdly I would identify prerequisite skills that are needed in a lesson by looking whether the lesson plan has lesson assessment of the previous topics which are related to that day’s topic. Assessments are important in a lesson plan as they make the learners minds to be active and have a clear picture of what the teacher is teaching.
