The fact here reminds me of an important terminology used by Carl Rogers (Unconditional positive regard). Avinash always wanted to be a photographer but his parents forced him to pursue B. Tech and this will cause negative social conditions and later makes the person have low self-esteem and self-concept. Due to the pressure of parents, Avinash will be unable to become a fully functional person.

Additionally, his conception of an ideal self includes him being a photographer, while his real self is not one as a result of familial pressure. This confusion will result in being unhappy and dissatisfied.

The existence of unconditional positive concern that involves love, empathy, and warmth irrespective of more factors is essential for Avinash. An individual achieves self-actualization once other folks have reached their full potential. Avinash’s inability to become a photographer will not permit self-actualization to happen hance preventing his psychological health and happiness.
