The scientific method is a method of inquiry that helps us understand nature around and within us. When we talk about “science” as only one way to explain nature, and psychology, in particular, as one way to explain human behavior, what do you think this means? Can you think of other ways that we have used to explain behavior?

The scientific method and psychology can be closely identified with better understanding the idea of human conduct. The application of the exploratory strategy in general psychology permits the recognizable proof of the connections existing between a physical stimulus and the sensory perception deriving from it. This relationship can be examined and checked in the laboratory and can be upheld by information/data that address the degree and intensity of the connection between the observed phenomena. The general psychology is experimental, therefore, and hence applies experimental method such as carrying out tests involving statistics which allows to quantify the magnitude of a given studied phenomenon. General psychology is scientific in the moment in which it studies the mental phenomena in a structured way and following the typical practice of the scientific method. In this context, therefore, the object of study can be language, behavior, emotions, personality, and many other mental functions, perception, and processes.
