The wording of initially asked questions can influence the feedback to the questions asked later. As such, when the first question contains either true or false presuppositions, there is a likelihood that the witness will report to have observed the presupposed object. Additionally, questions presented immediately after an event can introduce new information to the memorial representation of an event, thereby reconstructing or altering the event. Therefore, leading questions may produce an incorrect recall of an event.
